This free event will be a celebration of Irish heritage and culture will be the spot light at Lock 3 - 200 S. Main Street, Akron on Sept 14th & 15th, 2012 when the Summit County Hibernians join forces for the 2nd annual Akron Irish Cultural Festival. Principal Sponsor The City Akron, Ohio.

Everyone is Irish at Lock 3 as we celebrate way to St. Patrick's Day featuring Elevation A Tribute to U2 and Irish Rock’s premier band The Young Dubliners plus all your favorite local Irish bands including Callahan and O’Connor, Fergie & the Bog Dogs, and The Shaffer Brothers featuring guest appearance of Irene Uhalley. There will be performances each night by the MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance, Friday Celtic Eagle Bagpipe Band and Saturday Akron District Pipe and Drum 
band will be playing. Everything you would expect at an Irish celebration with all your favorite Irish fest Irish foods in the Irish Food Court and the Irish Market place for your favorite Irish novelties, also don't forget the genuine Irish libations for the adults. Stop by early on Friday for happy hour at 4 pm and Saturday at Noon. Irish Culture will be on display in the O'Neil commons area with displays of the history of Ireland and our area. There will also be demonstrations of Irish Dance, Music, Hurling, and more. There will be fun for the whole family so come down to Lock 3, don't wait 6 more months to celebrate with the Irish on St Patrick’s Day.
